Procedures? Whether or not a Brexit deal is reached, changes to the procedures for importing from or exporting to the EU are likely. HMRC says these could be a minefield for businesses which make infrequent sales to or purchases from the EU.

Tip. Rather than tackle the new procedures yourself you could appoint a customs agent or a transport company to handle them for you. They’ll have the necessary expertise on hand. The government has published a list of agents and fast parcel operators who can help you. The British International Freight Association also has a website where you can search for businesses with the right expertise (see The next step ).

If after Brexit you need help with the new customs procedures for imports and exports, a customs agent or transport company can handle the paperwork for you. Check GOV.UK for their contact details.
